In 2014, there were over 64,000 beagles in labratories.
There are 7.6 million companion animals that enter shelters each year in the U.S.
This is Blackie, our mascot, and first rescue. He was a blood donor for a veterinary clinic in Puerto Rico for 4 years. In 2008, we flew him in from Puerto Rico when he was 7 years old. With the help of our founding volunteers, he was rehabilitated, cared for and loved by a three dog family in New Jersey. He lived till a ripe old age, passing away of natural causes a very happy boy.
We try to help those hard to reach companion animals - because like the more easy to find animals - they have the same heart and singular desire to love and be loved forever as a member of their own family!
